Who Should Acquire the CBQM®

CBQM® PRE-CERTIFICATION EVALUATION

There are no examinations for CBQM®. Registrants are required to make submissions of assignments and papers etc., which are evaluated by the Credential Award Committee. The following are required to be submitted online/offline to the Credential Award Committee by all CBPM® Registrants:

CERTIFICATION VALIDITY

Your CBQM‌® certification is valid exactly for 5 years from the date of award and all CBQM‌® certified individuals are required to either recertify or upgrade to the new level after five years. An application for re-certification to BCI has to be made at least 8 weeks prior to the date of expiry of your CBQM‌® certification.

UPGRADE TO CBQL‌®

You can upgrade to the Leader level qualification - the CBQL‌® - minimum 24 months after attaining your CBQM‌® Certification. The following trends internationally may just help you take a better decision:

CBQM® ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidacy requirements define the parameters on the basis of which an applicant shall be evaluated fit for applying for a particular certification. Candidacy requirements will vary across certifications.

Educational Requirements

Applicants for CBQM‌® should be advanced users of computers and hold either or a combination of the following qualifications:

  • Professional degree/diploma/certification like Six Sigma in quality management from globally recognized credentialing organizations.
  • Undergraduate degree in statistics/economics/mathematics or any other equivalent qualification from internationally recognized institutions.
  • CBTS‌®/CCIS‌®/CBSS‌®/CFPS‌®/CTSS‌® standards.

Professional/Work Requirements

  • Applicants who come from non-BPO backgrounds
  • Are required to have minimum SEVEN years of supervisory or assistant managerial experience in the Quality Management/Quality Assurance departments of recognized organizations in banking, insurance, retailing, telecommunications, information technology, travel, hospitality, transportation and public utility services.

  • Applicants who have a BPO or a call center background
  • The minimum prescribed work experience requirement is 5 years of which a minimum of THREE years should be in the supervisory roles in one or a combination of Quality sub-functions in recognized BPO organizations, collection centers, call centers or customer support outfits

  • For applicants who have the BCI CBTS® certification
  • The minimum prescribed work experience requirement is 7 years of which a minimum of 3 years after the CBTS‌® award should be in senior supervisory or team-lead roles in one or a combination of Quality sub-functions in recognized BPO organizations, collection centers, call centers or customer support outfits. 

  • For applicants who have the BCI CCIS®/CBSS®/CFPS®/CTSS® certification
  • the minimum prescribed work experience requirement is seven years of which a minimum of 5 years after the CCIS‌®/CBSS‌®/CFPS‌®/CTSS‌® award should have been spent in senior supervisory or team-lead roles in one or a combination of Quality sub-functions in recognized BPO organizations, collection centers, call centers or customer support outfits.

Age

Ideally, an applicant should have completed minimum 23 years of age at the time of applying for CBQM‌®. There is no upper age bar for any certification program.
