Who Should Acquire the CBTM®


There are no examinations for CBTM‌®. Registrants are required to make submissions of assignments and papers etc., which are evaluated by the Credential Award Committee. The following are required to be submitted online/offline to the Credential Award Committee by all CBTM‌® Registrants:


Your CBTM‌® certification is valid exactly for 5 years from the date of award. Since the standards evolve in tandem, all CBTM‌® certified individuals are required to either recertify or upgrade to the next level which is CBPL‌®. An application for re-certification has to be made at least 8 weeks prior to the date of expiry of your CBTM‌® certification.


You can upgrade to the Leader level qualification - the CBPL‌® - minimum 24 months after attaining your CBTM‌® certification. The following trends internationally may just help you take a better decision:


Candidacy requirements define the parameters on the basis of which an applicant shall be evaluated fit for applying for a particular certification. Candidacy requirements will vary across certifications.

Educational Requirements

Applicants for CBTM‌® should have a decent exposure to computer-use and hold either or a combination of the following qualifications:

  • MBA or a Professional degree/diploma in human resource management/psychology or certifications like those from TMI, HRCI, ASTD, CIPD etc. or any other equivalent qualification
    in training from internationally recognized institutions.
  • Individuals holding CBTS‌®/CBMT‌® credentials can also apply for the CBTM‌® program.

Professional/Work Requirements

  • Applicants who come from non-BPO backgrounds
  • Are required to have minimum SEVEN years of supervisory experience in the HR/people/personnel/workforce/manpower departments/functions in organizations across verticals (business/social sectors).

  • For applicants who have a BPO or a call center background.
  • the minimum prescribed work experience requirement is 5 years of which a minimum of three years should be in the supervisory roles in one or a combination of HR sub-functions in recognized BPO organizations, collection centers, call centers or customer support outfits.

  • For applicants who have the CBTS‌®/CBMT® certification
  • The minimum prescribed work experience requirement is 5 years of which a minimum of 2 years after the CBTS‌® award should be in senior supervisory or team-lead roles in one or a combination of HR sub-functions in recognized BPO organizations, collection centers, call centers or customer support outfits.


An applicant should have ideally completed minimum 23 years of age at the time of applying for CBTM‌®. There is no upper age bar for any certification program.
